Classes, Objects, and Enums to Recognize
A workshop might eventually keep one registration record with both data and actions. In that style, a class describes a kind of record; an object is one individual value created from it. An attribute is data on an object, and a method is an action called on it. You already use methods on built-in objects: "badge".upper() calls a string method and returns "BADGE". Reading record.name in someone else's program would access an attribute. We are not asking you to write a class, constructor, or inheritance relationship here.
An enum gives a fixed set of named choices, such as OPEN, FULL, and CANCELLED. Python's enum module defines these with class syntax, so this course treats enums as reading vocabulary only; for your project, ordinary strings, dictionaries, conditions, and functions are sufficient. Similarly, the optional recursion and lambda patterns from the previous section are not prerequisites. Next, build the board with the fundamentals you already practiced.
